I really have no tolerance for people who act out because of things that happened to them. "I molest because I was molested as a child" or "I beat my children because I was beat as a child". You know what? These things happened to me also and I have older children of my own and NEVER did any of this to them. I know how helpless I felt and how scary it was. Why the heck would I want to make my children go through the same? People are disturbed and take no accountability for their own actions!

I agree with your every word. It IS wrong for ppl to do that, and so many do. Its a cop out. They think its a good excuse for their actions and its not, it looks really bad.

I was molested as a child and don't want to make anyone else go through that pain.
I was yelled at as a child too, and i have found myself loosing my temper, but I stop and try to make it better

Hey Parisgirl. You need to re-read the statement. Roxy is the good guy. Her statements were in quotations meaning others said those things not her. She loves her children and is the example of what these sick people should do and how they should behave!

Good for you Roxy. Unfortunantly some people either lack the brains, or lack the sensitivity you have that allowed you to break the cycle in your family.

These things happened to me too, and I also never hurt my kids. But you have to realize that everyone reacts differently. Its not an excuse, but everyones level of abuse is different. Some of us are stronger than others. Yes, they are disturbed, but thier abuse can be a valid reason.

people blame others as it's easier than being responsible for one's own actions.

I agree. People need to be strong and break the cycle.

i blame it on part of a 'feeling like the victim' mentality that runs rampant through the western world....
