The original Contract with America was very successful in turning 54 U.S. House Congressional seats over to the Republicans during the 1994 midterm elections and in creating a Republican Congressional majority. Today, the Republican Party is struggling to maintain their federal majority, and the "Foley problems" are not helping the Republicans. With the past success that the origional Contract with America created for Republicans, why not create another "Contract with America" list of issues that Republicans in both U.S. House of Representative races and in U.S. Senate races can successfully use as a political benchmark to run on and to use as a visual aid for the general public to see? Having such a list availiable would also create a "political moral boost" for the Republican Party. Preachers of hate speech and those who practice anti-Republicanism and general leftist politics anywhere in the world need not apply to this question.

They don't need to do another contract, they already got what they wanted, which was the seats. So now they can just screw things up as they please.

Because they broke the original contract and are not insane enough to do the same thing in the same way. Today, Republicans just play the blame game. All the problems of the Republican party and country in general are the Democrat's fault. Don't believe that is the case? Just listen to the Rush Limbaugh Show for proof.

i think that is a very good idea. the media is extremely likely to lean left, and does not mind showing its bias. the republicans need to get positive reports out to the public. as for the foley crap, does anyone really believe that no democrat has ever behaved in the same fashion?

I'm sorry you don't see the need for real mature political discourse. I lean left but realize the need for ALL citizens to be involved in the governing of this country. A nation divided with no willingness for the one half to work with the other half will eventually, of necessity decline.

As a left leaning citizen I'll leave you to your efforts to only get half the story from half of the people in this nation.

They're too busy covering their butts over the latest scandal:

The rumors about another top GOP member of the House being involved in sexual encounters with young "men for hire" are confirmed to WMR by well-placed sources in Washington's gay community. The member in question is House Speaker Dennis Hastert, whose "alternate" life style is the primary reason for him and his staff covering up the scandal involving ex-Florida GOP Rep. Mark Foley and his lewd messages sent to underage male congressional pages. Hastert's penchant to receive anal sex is well-known to our sources in DC's gay community. Additionally, Hastert's reported extremely small penis is the subject of many jokes among Washington's gay circles.
