Me and my housemate are in sync with each other. How does this happen? How do your bodies know and why does it do it?

It always happens when I share a house with a girl or spend a lot of time with a girl. Most people I know get this. I don't doublt that it happens just wondered why

Menstrual Cycle Synchronization- Pheromones; doubtful evidence.
But it happens and have been recorded frequently. My advice for men is to avoid a goup of girls living together during the wrong time of the month(PMSing)

Some scientists theorize that women give off a chemical (such as a pheremone) during their cycles that causes the periods of females to fall in line with the dominant female's cycle. For example, if four women live together and one of them is more responsible for the group than the others, the theory holds that the rest of the women in that group will have a period that will sync up with hers.

because when women are menstruating, during menstrutation these chemical hormones called pheromones are released which have no smell but are sensed by other women and this causes them to get their period at the same time as women that they live with etc. also if women are living together, they are most likely to be dealing with the same stresses and therefore would trigger their menstrual cycle around the same time. but the pheromones is the science behind it.

Yep, it's pheromones, those are hormones that your body sends out. These pheromones can alter another woman's hormonal signals.
It's really a normal occurrence, just make sure there's plenty of chocolate in the house when it's time :)

This phenomenon is well known among women. But sceince has no real answer. Best guess, we actually start to move together under some influence of the Moon (think tides or ocean currents).

Yes, it does happen and you will find it with roommates as well as coworkers sometimes. Our bodies release hormones (or pheromones) that are absorbed by others around you (if on a constant enough basis) and cause this evil phenomenon to happen.

It goes way back to prehistoric times!
All the females would come into season together, therefore ensuring the population was sustained. One male could impregnate the whole herd of women!! One huge sex party, but purely for procreation purposes.

I have heard the pheromone idea.. I don't know if it is factual science, though.
It is NOTHING to do with the MOON.......Be Logical...if it was to do with moon cycles then surely every woman in the world would menstruate at the same time!

my best friend and I were the same way, It's almost like our senses. We just somehow pick up on things unconsiouly, and our bodies will react and do the same. Call it the power of the human body.

I don't know exactly how, but I know its got something to do with the moon, as the moon controls the tides and our bodies are 70% water, but thats all I know and I realise this didn't help you at all!!
