Yes, God has designed as such. Happiness is fulfillment of the same. A successful man/woman is one who has focus on the "purpose".

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

Happiness is a state of experience when the desire of a person, and the situation outside matches...
Success of a person is a very very relative term... It depends on who is viewing or evaluating success.
For example, we may consider a person who has sacrificed his life for some noble cause as a successful person, having made FULL use of his life , but that person himself would rate success as not having needed to sacrificed and yet achieving the goal !
With normal people by the time one desire gets fulfilled, ten more come up with stronger urge, and so success 'seems' to be elusive !

Surely! According to Christian faith, God created man in his own nature. Everyone knows that every human being is unique both physically and mentally. If all human beings where every created same, then this world could a really a very boring place to live in. To understand this, just think like this, if there is a very big garden with only red roses planted, you could defintely not enjoy it!

Coming back to purpose for everyones life, Bible says that God knew each of us even before this world is even created. But I accept that this fact is harder to comprehend. We do have to acknowledge human limitation in understanting the infinte God and his marvellous ways. So, God has a perfect plan or a purpose for each persons life and nothing every happens "accidentally" in a individual's life. It's as simple as that!.

There is no purpose in life. We are born and must create our own purpose. A successful man/woman is one who has achieved their own goals, no matter how small, never mind what society thinks......the moment that one looks for judgement from others....u have already lost, unless that was for improving in YOUR OWN EYES
