A massive undersea earthquake caused a huge wave that tore through oceanside communities that were within the direct path of the tsunami. The wave was enormous and it levelled buildings, overturned cars and smashed people. It did the most damage in the poorest areas, where buildings were poorly built and there was little communication. With some advanced warning and effective government, many of the deaths could have been avoided.

Have you been living cut off from the rest of the world for the last 2 years?
I remember watching the CNN and BBC coverage when I was there and it was about 2 days behind the local news networks. But 2 years? that is really behind the times.

A "Huge" earthquake occurred deep in the Asian ocean, and when this happens millions and millions of tons of water gets displaced....then the water has to go somewhere so a it comes in a big wave....and it keeps traveling and traveling until it hits land....and BAMMmmmm ! ! ! !
You could probably try an experiment in your bath tub or sink if you're really curious........Place on object in there very quickly and that'll act like the earth moving down below and see what happens......
God Bless all those unfortunate people....! ! ! !
