Killer whales are gorgeous and very intelligent. I also like False Killer Whales, Pseudorca crassidens, which get to about half the size but are almost as dangerous to large cetaceans and whales. I was reading a book on whales and the False Killers attacked a sperm whale pod and took off some flippers and things. They get to about 15 to 20 feet and can weigh around 2 tons. Similar to a coyote pack second only to the wolf pack.

I like em too. Although I think I'd bee pretty scared face to face. I don't like them being kept in piddling sized pools either. They have beautifully sleek looking skin (on the telly anyways). There was this movie made about a killer whale called "Orca the Killer Whale" starring Richard Harris (RIP). It was pretty dodgy and it was about a killer whale intent on vengeance. It bit off a lady's legs! I saw it as a child and was terrified.

The 'killer' whale, or orca, is a beautiful animal. It is a carnivore
but its main diet is seals or fish.
It normally does not threaten humans, and as far as I know there is no history of orcas predating upon human beings.
They are intelligent and playful, but very powerful.
I think they are wonderful.

Me, like Charlotte I have been wahale watching off Vancouver Island in Canada, it is a truly amazing experience. To see these beautiful creatures out in the wild splashing around doing what they want to do naturally, rather than being stuck in a tank to amuse us humans is one of the best experiences of my life.

I love them. I went whale-watching in Canada once and saw over fifty orcas. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
