Going there in January and would like some nice party/dance spots that cater to ages maybe 25 - 38 yrs old in the Mobay area. We plan to enjoy ourselves and the resorts but we invite some REAL young Jamaican culture life for us young folk!

Montego Bay is ok. There are a few places along Gloucester Ave. Just be careful because tourists are not only welcome by some, they are prime targets for others. You will encounter a lot of "peddlers" ranging from hair braiding, jamaican goodies, and the occasional ganja. If you take part in activities, they almost require you give tip (that is their main form of income). Keep your head straight, and you'll be fine. Here are a few places in Mo'Bay:

Margaritaville Montego Bay - Hailed as the place to party on Montego Bay’s “Hip Strip” Gloucester Avenue, Margaritaville is perfect for anyone looking for exciting entertainment, a lively atmosphere and delicious food. Opened in January 1996 by Jamaican owners Brian Jardim and Ian Dear with the aim of appealing to both visitors and the demanding local clientele, Margaritaville is now a ‘must see’ for both

Jackpot Jungle - The first resort in Jamaica to standardize live world-class entertainment as part of a true gaming experience, Coral Cliff continues to lead the way by providing a safe, lively atmosphere for players of all kind. Coral Cliff’s Gaming Lounge is perfect for seasoned slot machine players who enjoy playing to win, just-for-fun players or those who might take a chance at winning their next vacation to Jamaica

Rum Jungle - There’s a three part rule in Rum Jungle – See no evil; Hear no evil; Speak no evil. Just do what your instincts tell you

As stated in other answer be careful. Take a walk up Gloucestershire ave and do some shopping. Say no firmly to the beggers and they will leave you along but remember that jamaica is a poor country and they have no government help financially or medically, so the money they make goes to supporting their families. Don't be afraid to buy an ankle bracelet or a necklace from a few locals. Go to Mo Bay beach (across from Sandals Inn) ask people for a guy named courtney or scratchy (this guy is down by the buckaneer hotel at the end of the road) they will help you find some the greatest spots (true local jamaican cultural experience) They are trustworthy, try the star apple, it melts in your mouth, I promise. tell them that pati and Chuck (say it like CHULK) said hi!!!

Well there is always the Margueritaville Bar...however there are a few others...Hurricanes, Pier 1 on the Waterfront.

Be advised tho...even tho the majority of the Jamaican folks are truly wonderful, engaging people...there are some that will rip you off in the blink of an eye.

Be careful!
