Dr. No was the first official Bond release in 1962, played by Sean Connery. However, Barry Nelson was the actual first James Bond. He played Bond in an Americanised television episode adaptation of Casino Royale in 1954. Bob Holness (Blockbusters) also portrayed James Bond in a 1956 South African radio adaptation of Moonraker.

Sean Connery of Course and Dr. No of course in 1962, I was ten years old when this came out and became a 007 fanatic.
George Lazeanby was the first to play bond other than Sean Connery and that was in On Her Majesty's Secret service in 1969.
I loved the opening scene where the girl runs away from James Bond and George says,"This never happenned to the other guy". Meaning of Course sean Connery.
