I don't remember the Simpsons episode with that on the TV but Pepperidge Farm ran those commercials in the US for several years. At the end of the commercial was a folksy-sounding man's voice with a New England accent and he said, "Pepperidge Farm Remembers." It's part of the culture in the States.
