Is he big enough to eat a pinky mouse (newborn mouse if you didn't know)? If so a couple of those a week should do it, maybe one a week and the mealworms the rest of the days. Also do you put supplements on the mealworms?
If you can just get crickets and pull off the jumpin' legs, i know it sounds terrible but they're food.
Also once he can catch the crickets again make sure to gut load them.

Mealworms aren't the best because they have a hard outer shell that the geckos can't digest. As an occasional treat they're fine, but your gecko is putting important calories into trying to digest something that he can't. It probably sounds bad, but get the crickets and pull their back legs off. The gecko will be able to catch them and be able to digest much more.

Pinky mice are usually good, once or twice a week. The mealworms are good too. If he really can't catch crickets then that's all i can think of. Now, how do i get mine to stop bein so angry?? Nah I'm kidding, i think it's really cute when he glares.

Superworms, mealworms and pinky mice. use the superworms to get him fat and then switch to mealworms to keep him at the weight you want. Pinky mice are newborn mice that have been frozen, most people don't like the idea but you might need to feed one to your gecko. These things are all available at any pet store.

meal worms are good to fatten them up but you need to be careful because they will sometimes refuse all other food because they taste nicer, mix some crickets in as well,if your leo is too weak to catch them try hand feeding them,my bearded dragon will take food from my hand see if it works.

I got mine some superworms, and it fattened her up pretty quickly, they are supposedly like 17% fat which is high. I got mine at Petco, maybe if you have a Petco in your area you can get these, look at them first to see if your gecko is large enough to eat them, they're pretty big worms. Mine is a young adult I believe and she ate them just fine.

Wax worms, silk worms, butter worms...
You can also try chicken baby food if he'll eat it. Also, try getting some canned crickets at your petstore and offer those to him, just to keep a variety of vitamins in his system.
