People are as cheery as you, my friend. The world is like a mirror. It just reflects what you are.
Are you cheery? Do you smile and say hello very often? If you smile at people, they'll smile back at you. If you are cheerful, the mood will spread like an infection to others around you.

People are more cheery in the summer. Nights are drawing in now. England doesnt have a lot to offer when its wet, windy and dark.
People are too stressed and taxed too much in this country. My council tax is £112.00 per month and i live in a 2 bedroom flat!

In the words of that Great thinker, 'Doh!'
Which particular 'country do you have in mind,' squire?
If you are a US citizen, from the land of 'Have a nice day,' it sounds great in theory (the wishing one to 'have a nice day'), but in practise, having heard it 30+ times in a day, it REALLY got on my nerves (and that began back in 1973).
In the Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy, where every doorway you passed 'thanked you for making use of it, and wished you well on your journey'..... One kind of got the message in a short space of time ....and the ''bloody tedium'' of it too.
If you are in the UK, 'showing your emotions' is fine, is good is something relatively new here. But then, we have had the education of American TV and .....Sorry, there are those dysfunction individuals who want to show and EXPRESS every emotion (usually annoyance & ANGER) who seem unable to constrain their selves.
Part of my experience is that Americans (I am making a weeping generalisation here) believe it is 'their inalienable right to pursue happiness with a gun and shoot anyone who gets in their way and denies them this,' or kick the rear end of anyone to sooth their fettered emotion.
I am a advocate of not witholding emotion, but there have to be boundaries. Too many people behave like children - simply because of bad parenting where they were not taught about boundaries, and so they carry this forwards into their adult life.
One of the reasons our prisons are all but full at present.
This scares me.
So, what particular series of emotions you want to see from me then?
I hope this helps.
Sash.

We have become a "ME" society....I think when a person can focus on God and realize that He is why we are here then it is easier to just be joyful and be able to smile and greet everyone.
Have A Great Weekend!

I live in London and it is probably the most un-friendly place on the Earth.
Everyone is in such a hurry they barge you out of their way, push you to get on the tube first.
Everyone needs to slow down a bit!!

It's all the stress factors that are put on us. Of course, it's going to make the majority of us "unfriendly". I wouldn't mind more common courtesy though.
