If you feel icky then it's already here to stay for several days. However ....... nurse nellyenno says, 1) gargle with gin (neat). It'll numb your poor sore throat and sterilise the back of your mouth where all the goo is draining down from your sinuses right now. And hey, it's impolite to spit it down the sink, so gargle then swallow, gargle then swallow, and repeat gargle then swallow. Care less about the cold now? Gooooood. Then 2) pour some Olbas Oil into a mug, add boiling water and hold your head over it. That should clear your head a bit. Don't drink this one though! 3) Sleep partially sitting up supported by loads of pillows and have the window open. Don't let that mucus fester on your chest by lying flat. 4) Soothing hot baths, lots of sleeps and plenty of fluids. Hope you feel better soon!!!

OK everybody has a symptom masking remedy but here is the ONLY CURE believe me I wish it had a shelf life ..$$$$$$$$ but it don't so here it is go out and dig up a dandelion you have to eat about 3- 4 inches of root. the root has to be twisted and then take out the CORE not the outside bark its small about the diameter of the lead in a pencil. eat it with a potato chip it may have a slightly bad taste.{oh wash the root } try this and it will be gone in 2-3 days if it is really a cold good luck.......

Try taking ginger and honey. I have been taking ginger and honey everytime I get a cold and it really works. I don't take colds medicine because it won't do you any good. It will only damage your organs. I cure my sickness with natural products. Try consulting my Naturopathic doctor (ND), he is the one I ask everytime I am sick. You will learn a lot of things on how to cure any health problems to maintaining a healthy body. It is worth trying this doctor. His website is www.design2heal.com.

I have it on good authority that if you treat a cold aggressively it will be gone in a week. However, if you let it run its course, it will last seven days.
Seriously, go to bed, drink warm liquids, stay away from other people and sleep as much as you can.
You'll feel better soon!

The actual cure is jumping into a cold icy river or even a cold icy bath
it lowers your body temperature so all your cells can work properly

I went through this and surprisingly was told about Airborne.
The effervescent tablets at drugstores WORKED. Any other things that I have tried only may have reduced the symptoms. Took one at 6 pm, one at 9 pm and the next morning I was "healed". If this works for you, please email me back.
