This is my first job interview and I want to make sure everything is perfect. I am applying for the position as cashier and I was wondering what would be appropriate for me to wear at the interview.

Honestly, wear something nice, but not too nice. Remember it's an interview for Sears, not Saks 5th Avenue. You are good with details & don't like to make mistakes. You never get upset about anything. If someone asks you a question that you don't know the answer to, you'll find it out for them. If you have a weak point, it's that you have been accused of being too much of a perfectionist. All you want to do right now is have a job & maybe think about career opportunities in the future. You've been in the military & so you are familiar with doing what is required & with discipline & a good work ethic. Your main goal at first would be just to do what your supervisor tells you to do. Good luck.

A dress, or a suit. Look professional, especially if you will be in sales. Congratulations on the interview and best of luck in getting hired. NEVER wear pants to an interview at a retail store. You must look professional Pant suit is casual and you look as if you don't know the store, or, merchandise, where you want to work.

Pants are okay if you are applying at a fast-food restaurant, but, not for a major retailer. They LOOK at you carefully, show that you have class and style by wearing a suit, or, business type dress.

My suggestion is to wear something you are comfortable in, including shoes. A nice pair of pants and blouse, a skirt and blouse, or a dress - be sure the clothes fit you properly; nothing too tight, or showing too much skin, nor bright colors - SEARS is rather conservative. You can rarely go wrong with a nice black/brown/grey pair of slacks/skirt and a white/cream colored blouse. Also, try to stay away from material that wrinkles too easy. There's nothing worse than showing up for an important interview/meeting and feeling self conscious about your clothing. Good Luck with your interview!

It is ok to be more formal than everyone else at an interview. I would wear a suit or at least dress pants and a collared shirt. Nothing too flashy or revealing is also a safe way to go. Good Luck!

You want to look not too casual and not too formal. A nice pants suit could work, but I would go for the dress. It is just a little more polished. No pointy toe shoes. Moderate is what you are going for here. Keep the make up calm too. No dragon lady fingers either. Low key, sophisticated, calm: that's the look. Soft colors, with maybe a scarf for an accent of color.

Dress up. Sears has a business casual dress code but for the interview you will want to dress business attire. Although this won't be the deciding factor...it's just one more way to "sell yourself." which is what they want you to do at a sales position for a retail store.

Wear a nice pair of pants, heels (never open toe shoes), and a nice dress shirt. If you have a skirt suit that would be nice too. Dress like you would for a very nice restaurant. Mainly companies want to know that you are clean and organized.

I would do something not too dressy but nice - like Khaki's are not too dressy but they are nice with a cute sweater or dress shirt
