c. 34 m

(The base of a rectangle is 10m =LENGTH ,
the height is 7m=breadth.)
Perimeter
=length+breadth+length+breadth
=10+7+10+7
=20+14
=34 m
OR
PERIMETER
=2*length+2*breadth
=2*10+2*7
=20+14
=34m

First perimeter of rectangle was 10 + 10 + 7 + 7 = 34 m
now as sides are halved so 34 / 2 = 17 m

1.perimeter is always expressed in length units.
2.perimeter of the rectangle=(7+10)x2 =34 m
3.if base is haved then the perimeter =(7+5)x2=24 m
4.if height is haved then the perimeter=(3.5+10)x2=26 m
5.if both base & height are haved then the perimeter=(3.5+5)x2=17 m
but in this case new rectangle will appear 1/4 of the original rectangle.
6.to get a correct picture first draw a diagram of a rectangle with base
as 10 cm & height as 7 cm, then modify the diagram as mentioned
in (3), (4) above. you can see for yourself what the picture looks like.
7.if area is what you want then 7x10=70 sq.m. to start with. and you will
find that in (3) & (4) above area is = 35 sq.m. and finally in (5) area is
17.5 sq.m.
hope if this answers your problem and helps you in understanding problem, i am a happy person.

dilated?

if that means reduced to half the area or instead of 70 m2 to 35 m2 then the circumference comes down from 34 meters to a 3.5 meter high by 10 meter rectangle @ 27 meters. The perimeter.

If dilated means both height and width are reduced to half size, then the perimeter is reduced to half size and the perimeter is 17 meters.

perimeters are linear measurements, so a & b are out. the perimeter of the original rectangle is 34 m. reduced to 1/2 size, the perimeter is 17 m. answer is d

Hi. Add the four new sizes together (5+3.5+5+3.5).

It is 41m if we dilate its height & 44m if we dilate its base.

So all your options are wrong.
