If someone takes a chance (which could even bankrupt them) and are successful good for them.

I do not think that everyone is jealous of success. One must realise that any success (if you are referring to a business which makes a lot of money) comes with support and help from a lot of people including the government.

The flipside of such success is that it not of your own making. It is an illusion which only truly successful people can see through. It can therefore be taken away from you just as easily as it was given to you as an illusion.

If you are referring to other forms of success, then I would still disagree that everyone is jealous of something they do not understand. If they do not understand it, they are therefore confused (not jealous).

If people react violently because they are dealt the short straw without a fair contest, then this is the lose lose solution of a game in which there are no winners. Everyone is a loser if the optimal solution is not sought by all participants.

Everyone is not jealous of success. Greed is the evil that fuels violence. To say the aggressor is any more evil than a persecutor, is to show which side of the fence you sit on.

Because alot of people feel like things should be handed to them and they just sit back and wait for things to happen. When they see someone who is successful they get jealous because they don't know that in order to be successful you need to work for it.

It's something innate (built into us) just like any other emotion such as fear, anger and joy.
-It really depends on your upbringing. Many people in a capitalistic society such as ours are tied to competing with others for the best homes, cars and luxury items. When someone outdoes us, we feel frustrated and instead of congratulating that person on their success we begin to hate and despise that person.
It's quite unfortunate, but it happens in life.

You are absolutely right. Most people are jealous of things they wish they had. It's a deep rooted sin all of us have within ourselves to covet what others have. We just have to work past it.

it is probably because they want to be succesful themselves or perhaps possess the qualities that hae made thother person so succesful, like they wish they were spur of the moment or risk taking or whatever... usually when people say they hate or dislike something so bad, it is because subconsciously they r the people they most want to be like
