Calmly ask them either, why are they yelling at you? Is everything okay? How can I help? I am here to talk if you need to. Or just ignore it at the moment, and take your leave. Then ask them later is everything okay? Each person deals with pressure a different way, some just don't deal with it calmly.
Anger can cause more problems for you or the co-worker.
Most bosses like it when you know how to deal with others in the right way, like how you deal with an angry customer.

Punch himin the face, no seriously, tke a early lunch break, and when you come back and hes still like that take another one right then and there, and say youl come back when theyve calmed down. or what i did once whwn my boss was having a bad day and yelling at each and everything, i just startes to burst out laughing at everything he said.

Just say quietly. "I'm sorry you are having a bad day...I'll catch you later when you feel better" It should make him think...if he can think.
We all have to work with difficult people and often they have all this dramatic crap spinning around in their head and project their frustration and anger on the innocent...it is a fact of life.

First off I would say, "I'm sorry if you are having a rotten day,
but, that's no reason to treat me this way. So, you either
back up and breath, or I'm gonna bit_h slap you back to the
cradle!". It works, trust me. You don't have to use the "b" word.
Or anything similiar to this will help you out.

I would tell him calmly "stop talking to me this way - it's not my problem you have a bad day, I don't deserve to be yelled at, I am working hard" ... but in my heart if he repeats it I'd tell my boss ...

If it's just once, I'd let it go. If it is an ongoing thing, you'll probably want to report the person to their supervisor.
