I think that this kind of question is best asked of the public by stating each of their favorites of a particualr genre. Rather than just to ask for author in general. I do have a favorite of each school of writing but even that is too hard to pick sometimes. I really think that Gay Pope and Swift are a given as counting them as one considering how they relate to and work in accordance with one another? Some might disagree though?
This really is such a hard thing for me to do.
