She's putting added pressure on Iraq to get themselves up to speed, to secure their own destiny and making them understand that we have done what we said we would do. We can't keep baby sitting them forever. We're going to have to whoop N. Korea and Iran pretty soon.

There is a bigger story hear. Last week polling in Iraq showed an even greater majority want us out. Rice's trip seems to be an effort to pacify these folks as well as a US electorate that is polling very heavily against the handling of the war in Iraq. Keep in mind an election is coming up in the US next month that could cost the Republicans control of the House and Senate.

If you think we may be starting to look at withdrawing you maight want to look at the President's comment from Woodward's book (for those who doubt, he has reems of tapes and documents in support of his book). President Bush stated he would stay the course in Iraq even if the only ones supporting him were Barney (his dog) and Laura.

Bush said he wouldn't pull the troops out even if only Laura and Barney supported him.

Rice is a do-nothing and widely disrespected Sec of State who is only showboating and tap dancing until the fat lady sings.

If the Republicans win in November, you'll see a huge increase in troops. Bush is trying to lull supporters into thinking he's considering pulling troops out, but he will not.

Ms. Rice says what the White House speech writers tell her to say. Also, she is putting herself "out there" to make herself known and advertising she is available for a high pay job or another high level political position once the Bush administration is gone and she is out of a job.

They would like us to believe they are pulling our troops back home, but that is unlikely.

YES!!!!It sounds like we may be thinking about pulling some troops out before December.

Doesn't sound like a timetable to me, I wish it did. But when Rice says; "They don't have time for endless debate of these issues," Rice ... "They have really got to move forward. " it sounds as if she's giving another excuse for the US failure to keep the peace -- those damn Iraqi's that just can't agree.

I don't think she even knows where she is..half the time.

I guess with North Korea about to test the bomb, priorities have changed eh. So much for freedom.

Clean out your ears. We will NOT pull out until Iraq is stable. No matter how long that takes. To do any otherwise would be disaster.

Do we dare to hope. I agree it "sounds" like a time table, but it feels more like just what we want to hear.
