That's the question and a "essay" kicker to help me decide the best answer!

TO OKIDOKI--Please rethink your answer since I used the word "prevailing", which emcompasses the culture as well as the individuals, and reviews the self-regulating "check" some may have on the others.

Or, are you one of those who denies "group traits" in order to excuse the actions of a erratic individual belonging to that group?

Black Gunman (What a ID, huh?) You fall into the same logic trap that Okidoki has dropped into.

But your conclusions (which are based on your having to disregard your own argument, itself, in the preceding paragraph) are in line with my thinking and those of several others already on the board.

LEGOGIRL--Your answer is not "damning with faint praise" but "mildly praising with robust damns".

I would say Hollywood has a slight edge over the Republican congress, though both are pretty bad.

On a per capita basis I would be hesitant to chose one over the other. In order to be in Politics one has to be able to make compromises. The same goes for Hollywood. Both are driven by ego and hunger for power and or notoriety. The defining factor is that Congress works towards the good of the people, and Hollywood is just a toy to entertain with. However that toy has become dangerous of late and has set forth to destroy all morality and beliefs. Both Congress and Hollywood have agendas, and I believe the one in Congress is more beneficial to the people.

While the morals of both are obviously leaving a lot to be desired by the standards of most Americans the obvious choice is neither. You really cannot make a judgement of morals based on a community. Rather the individuals within the community should be judged individually. We can't hold all of Congress accountable for Foley or the other sexual predators who have served. By the same account we cannot hold all of Hollywood responsible for the downfalls of Todd Bridges.

On a per capita basis I'd have to say they equally hold members with lousy morals.

When examining both as a group it is obviously Congress who holds their members to a higher standard. The ones who fail are asked to leave either through resignation or by the voters. Hollywood never asks someone to leave based on poor morals.

Congress still, but has anyone doubted the effects from degenerates of Hollywood on our culture. I am sure pedophilia is rampant in Hollywood as well as orgies, drugs, adultery.

They are rich and successful, and feel guilty for it, and thus hate
America and some bash her every chance they get.

Did Alec Baldwin ever move to Canada. How about Danny Glover I don't see him moving to Vennie land. Phonies.

HEY PEOPLE ITS SIMPLE, How do you think that corrupt congressman got there. YOU Its called VOTE THEM OUT

Unfortunately we cannot vote out Hollywood, but we can leave the theaters empty.

Neither, and for the same reason. They both have power and notoriety, and people fawning all over them. That gives them a false sense of importance, and they think they are better than other people, and that normal rules do not apply to them.

This is so WRONG. In my opinion, both celebrities and our elected officials should use their notoriety for good purposes and set good examples for the general public. Sadly, it seems like no one has this point of view, though.

Hollywood i would say.

The deeds might be equally bad, but at least people in Tinseltown do not claim to be holy, bible-thumping Christians with high morals.

Neither and both. You can't lump any group of people together and answer a question like that.
