Sorry, but his life story sounds like a Republican, and I know he's a Democrat. Why do both of the parties get these legacy candidates? There really should be a rule that you can't succeed your dad or mother in office. There shouldn't be political royalty in America.

He should be put in jail. He is a scum bag and shouldn't be representing anyone. It's a sad reflection on today's Democrats that most of their party are scum of the Earth. The only reason Republicans get so much grief is because they actually stand up for something....even if they don't always measure up to their standards. Democrats stand for nothing except for not standing for any position....therefore, you can never call them a hypocrite.
He'll probably win, but vote against him, and keep working to get the Democrats out of Washington.
On a side note, we also need to clean the ranks of Republicans as well. Too many "Politics as usual" people in Washington. What Washington really needs is real conservatives, both socially and fiscally.

I hope the good white folks of the sovereign state of Tennessee will elect a qualified black candidate as their U. S. Senator without using those excuses that hide racist tendencies. As Chris Mathews says that white people don't vote for black candidates in state wide elections.

That description could pretty much describe George W. Bush. Why not be honest and say you dont want to vote for a black man?
Harold Ford has been a great congressman and will be a terrific US Senator. Who knows? Maybe even in 2012 an Obama/Ford Ticket for President/VP! Wouldnt that make your racist head explode???

Unfortunately, Harold Ford Jr will be forever tainted by his family. Of all the Fords, Harold Ford Jr. is the best.
I am sick of the commercials that are out slamming each candidate, but, I am impressed by the one with the people of Chattanooga where Bob Corker was Mayor and they cite the things he did for them. I'll be voting for Mr. Corker.
