I am 40 weeks pregnant now. Yesterday I went to the doctor and they told me that I haven't dilated any so I have to wait another week and if still nothing then they will induce me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to help myself dilate?

Nothing! Leave that baby alone! It will come when it wants to. A woman carries a baby for up 42 weeks. You still have 2 weeks. But walking is good! You never know...the baby may fall right out.

I tried the walking thing when I was pregnant and i still was induced. Not sure about that one. I never tried the nipple stimulation though try that it seems more fun than the walking

there is no true tested method of dilating yourself. I went thru that with my first child, my gyno told me to have alot of sex. Even though this is the last thing in the world you probably want to do, it did work....good luck

Walking, sex, perineal massage, castor oil( although I don't recommend), squats, walking up & down stairs or a bumpy car ride. Remember babies only come when they're ready. Once your in labour though try sitting in a warm bath with a tablespoon of powdered mustard in it for pain relief.

Try nipple stimulation

Rub your areola between your thumb and forefinger for 5 minutes one at a time with 15 minutes in between. Do not continue during a contraction. And stop when your contractions are 5 minutes apart.
You can also try spicy foods, sex with orgasm and ejaculation inside the vagina, walking and a slightly bumpy car ride.

do not try Castor oil...it just causes diarrhea and cramping...and you don't want that when you go into labor!

You need to be more actived, walk alot, house work anything that will keep you active is good since it will waken the baby and he/she will then start to move down and then out the birth canal.

walk a lot and have a lot of sex...they say those are the two biggest things that help women go into labor.
