actually, the bright green color is food dye. Natural pistachio ice cream is white - that's one way to tell if it's good stuff or not.

You're talking about the delicious Pistachio Nut. Most of these are grown domestically in California, but the largest producer in the world is Iran! When you buy these in a bag, go for the natural, unpainted nuts as these are better quality than the Red painted kind. A local Supermarket Bakery in my area makes wonderful Pistachio muffins...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

What is pistachio? OOps, I've been watching "Jeopardy" on TV. You can have it alone or mixed with chocolate and cherry in spumoni during the Winter Soltice season.
