I also checked a few other cities too, just for my own curiosity, (Honolulu, Miami, Beverly Hills... New York beat 'em all.) It was also interesting to note though that the 10 largest US cities were NOT the 10 higest salaries. Bevery Hills and Honolulu beat many of those listed... go figure.

Firefighters have to make a living. Saving lives is great, but you have to put food on the table.
Last time I heard, Los Angeles had the highest paid firefighters.

True firefighters care about saving people. If your main focus is money you should probably not be a firefighter.

Firer fighters are not concern about the money, they just like the itself, saving people, people that are not afraid, courage's, so on.
BOTTOM LINE is they make make good money, it pays the bills.
