It has a Celeron prpcessor. It still works but is very slow, and I have to use Win98 on it, and there are some programs that no longer support this OS.

sorry, but Microsoft requires a lot more resources as the OS grows bigger and bigger. you can use older pcs as linux servers, or a thin client. I just repurposed a pentium 3 with 128KB as a linux client. it boots up in 15 seconds or so.

Harddrive is not the answer to the problem.

Your system memory is too low for 64mb. Windows 98 take about 32mb system memory that is half of your laptop right now. It is no wonder that your laptop is running slow.

You could upgrades it but I thinking that it can take about 256mb max because it an old laptop. Do you see a cover in the bottem of the laptop? If yes, you can easily open it and inspect the memory. I am not sure about the model for system memory for Celeron laptop.

The reason why it's working very slowly, it's the hard drive is so full of pictures and info., delete everything. And i'll be working like new!
