Due to the high demands of the labelmaking industry, we haven't had time to get ISO certification off the the ground. I am trying to see if we could do something about that to change it.

It's mostly a scam, but as a vendor if it helps get you on the vendor list of your customer then you have to play. There are several consultants that for a fee will assist you in developing a quality manual and system compliant with ISO and arrange for third party audit functions to gain initial and recurrent certification.

Depending on the size and complexity of your business price will vary.

Canned quality manuals are on the market with associated documentation that can be tailored to your specific needs. You will need to write your own procedures and work instructions. The hardest part is getting the entire organization and your own suppliers to buy into and support all the paper trail. Maintaining the system is a pain in the ***.

Ownership will no doubt want a cost analysis on the benefits of certification vs. compliance.

As previously stated it's a scam at best
