Talk to a lawyer and have divorce papers drawn up for the first marriage that you ex will just have to simply sign. Then regardless of what other may say you must go and remarry the current husband. This is because the one you have is not valid. Think about this...say years from now things go wrong and you are going for a divorce. House, money, child custody and such are being decided. You current husband could just throw out that you werent legally married and then you will be screwed. But just purely on a relationship emotional level you don't need that hanging over you. So first of all you need to discuss this with your current husband.

You need advice from a lawyer. You made a legal mistake, and the only advice you should take is from a professional. Allow a cool headed person to take charge at this point. You are too deep in this forest to see your way out.

In my country you need a marriage license before you can get married. It doesn't matter if it was issued in error, it is still legal. I don't think your committing bigamie, but you should consult a lawyer. And if it turns out you aren't married to Mr Right, guess what, just keep living together and until you can get it sorted out.

Consult an attorney and get it straightened out. Man! That would make me furious. I would find a way to file charges on HIM for making you think you were divorced when you weren't. Terrible.

No, I would consult a lawyer about this. Don't panic, everything should work itself out rather quickly with a properly trained lawyer involved.

surely you told the registrar you had a previous marriage.. then they would have asked for the decree absolute.
without it you shouldnt have been married.
If you declared it, the registrar was wrong.... but its still gonna be hard to avoid trouble

You "thought" you were divorced. Oh that's rich! "So confused" is not the description I'd have used!
