If you visit a US high school these days that does not have uniforms, you'll notice that a fairly high percentage of the girls look like walking ads for a brothel - navel rings and thong straps, as well as a large portion of their breasts are all on display. Back in my day it was mini skirts. These girls wear them too sometimes.
So, I am wondering why are boys getting punished for even remotely suggestive or teasing comments like "you'd look good as a stripper". I'm willing to bet a boy could even be punished for saying a girl "you look fine", or some other such innocuous comment.
Is it hypocrisy that the same parents who allow their girls to go to school looking like that, would consider filinf charges for sexual harassment for something so innocent?

It's the same in England. Unless the thong is'nt practically turned all the way over the jeans, and belly percings are'nt on display in freezing temperatures, some girls don't consider themselves "dressed". I agree with what you said about the parents. They let their girls go out wearing very little and tell them they look good. I was horrified when my 12 yr old niece's step-mother took my niece for a belly piercing and low-cut tops. What's wrong with being a kid?

Even with the dress codes it does not help. I have 3 boys so they never complain about how the girls are dressed. But I can say with what lil they are wearing these days I'm glad I don't have a girl. I'm not sure they would like me cause I wouldn't let them dress with whats in style.

i don't understand what happened to dress codes? we weren't allowed to wear any thing above the knee or sleeveless shirts-in a public school! these days the girls dress like they are hookers and yes i agree it is sending bad signals--- the worst kind of attention!

women should be allowed to wear what they want without harassement yet kids in school should not wear all that crap. i wish we could go to wearing uniforms in school it would make school better for kids in the fact that we would not have sexual harassment or the kids who are poor without much for clothes would not get harrassed either

I think a lot of woman do not realize how sexually provocotive it is for males to view woman dressed like that. These woman think they are looking 'good' but to a male, they are advertising sex. Then they get mad when males lust after them.
