Find a plastic scraper. Test on an inconspicuous spot on the TV's cabinet. If it doesn't scrape the finish off the cabinet, go to town. Heating will only spread around the problem; plastic isn't perfectly smooth and it may have leached into microscopic imperfections in the cabinet. I restore old appliances, radios and TV sets as a hobby, and I've encountered this a few times. Worst case, disassemble the TV (remove electronics and picture tube from the cabinet, assumes basic knowledge of TV repair!). Dribble more candle wax from the same candle all over the TV's cabinet. Using an old iron on low heat, apply the candle wax uniformly around the cabinet. Scrape off the excess (PLASTIC SCRAPER!) and re-iron. The whole TV will take the color of the spot, and should be free of apparent blemishes, though its cabinet will have a slightly different color from original. Reassemble the TV and enjoy. I've done this on countless 1940s-1960s TV sets I've restored, though your mileage might vary with newer finishes.

try warm to hot water.....the temp helps soften the wax. but be sure to keep a steady amount on the wax because over time tihe water cools. as the wax softens it should come up with a little elbow grease.

this is also how you can get the wax out of votive cups...heat some water on the stove and dip the cup in a let it sit for a couple minutes. the wax melts off. *****just be careful the wax floats to the top.

PS ---i hope you were having fun when the wax got on the deck! LOL

Try getting something like a sautering iron, or a blow-dryer, and get it, heated-up, again, then take some type of hard plastic wrap, to wipe it up with...Or, like an old hot rag... (Hot water,on the rag), so it will come off easier..You basically have to start back to how it got there, to get it off.. I'm pretty sure this will work.. Just a little heat, and a good strong hot rag, and wipe away as soon as the wax, is at the melting temperature...Good-Luck, to you!

get a hair dryer on an extension cord and gently heat it. As it melts get some absorbant paper towels and mop it up. Should do the trick!

Put ice on the wax. It should make the wax harden and separate. Good luck.
