A very wise and thoughtful outlook here. Love is sometimes not enough to sustain things when it gets rocky or the circumstances are altered. One would like to think it is, but there has to be more I think. =) Respect, competency (as you stated), trust, and many others come to mind.

Love is something we all need.. where it effects our heart and soul no matter what happens we got love in our life.. even we not notice it we got love.. is blind but is effect us when we are aware and most of the time we are blind but love means alot to us and those around us, it helps us reach those we are close to and contact every day with.
