They are there because there is something organic in nature underground and they are decomposing it. That's their job in nature. When whatever they are decomposing is gone they will die out because they will have no more food.

The best thing to do in the meantime is take the back of a garden rake and just knock the buttons over if they are unsightly. This will not slow the decomposition process but will make your yard look better. Again, once decomp. is finished they will die out.

I know this! I used to work at a model home and I overwatered the lawn and left the water running all night. Mushrooms will grow in dark, wet lawns. Water less and definitely, not at night!

are they magic mushrooms lol

ask a gardener or go to a shop where they sell fertilizers and maybe there is one that kills weeds and mushrooms.
Or much better pick them and use them as compost for your veggie garden it works a treat and your veggies grow up yummy.
