Curling is a sport played on ice, where you have 4 players on a team and everyone gets 2 rocks(stones, or shots) to aim at the target on the other side of the ice(House) points are given to the team that has one or more rocks closest to the centre of the house. Not as easy as it sounds, because the opposing team will take out any stones that you may have in the house, so the end needs to be set up with guards to try to hide rocks behind, it is very stratigic kind of like chess that way.
Curling originated in Scotland, but the largest curling population is in Canada

It is a sport where you use a pot like object that slides on ice, reminds me some of shuffleboard, because you try to move your opponents piece on the ice. It is an Olympic sport now, but I don't know the origin.
