My period for the past few months has been weird. At one time, I skipped a month and it came back, then the next month I was spotting, then it went away, and came back about a week later. Just a few days ago I started to spot (mostly discharge), and now it's gone after 2 days. I'm not pregnant because I have tested myself over and over again. I do think it may be stress related, I have a lot of problems going on with my life right now. Does anyone have any answers why my period is so screwed up? Thank you for your input.

One more thing: I've also been changing my diet in the past month (eating healthier and exercising)

Stress does screw up the period. If you look this up online, you'll learn all about it. There is too much to explain here. Stress messes with estrogen and testosterone production...for starters. Put *How does stress affect menstrual cycles* into a Google search and you'll come up with all kinds of things to read. Seriously, a sentence that long will produce the right things to read in this case. Ask a doctor about anything you want to know for sure. Good luck.

Exercise and stress can change the cycle of your period. Some women stop seeing it for a time! It comes for a few days and then a whole cycle goes by before they see it again.

YES!
What can upset the menstrual cycle?
-pregnancy
-stress
-excessive exercise
-rapid weight reduction
-anorexia
-certain medical conditions such as anemia and thyroid problems
Although stress and a variety of other factors could cause ovulation to be delayed or missed. The luteal phase lasts from ovulation until the onset of the next menses, normally about 14 days.

Stress, weight loss, nutritional changes can alter the normal cycle, but also if its has a tendency to be changing around to other dates, esp. if you work around other females. I have always been extremely predictable, right on the date, normal, etc. But suddenly when I was a supervisor for a mostly girls crew, mine jumped all over the place. I guess the old idea of the "whole office" being on their periods can be true.

Yes stress can mess with your menstrual cycle. I had something like that happen to me too. I was stressed from work, family, friends, everything. Try to relax a little more

YES! Stress does strange things to us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Women who join the armed forces sometimes skip a period during basic training due to the rigorous schedule. When we can't relax enough, it takes its toll on our bodies. See your doctor.

Stress can control all aspects of your life.
It can literally make you lose hair or weight. It can make your body ache and cause migraines. Best bet is to seek medical attention for your stress and everything else will fall back into place.
