It depends on what you need to back up.
1. Choose the media on which to back up: Media (volume of the files per media)
Diskette (up to 1.44MB), ZIP (up to 200 MB), CD (up to 750 MB), FlashDrive (up to 4G), DVD (Up to 4.7GB), secondary HardDisk (dozens of GB)
Note that some media is rewritable (Diskette, Zip, FlashDrive, HD) while others aren't (CD,DVD)
2. You have certain files you know you want to backup every once in a while you can do it manually. If you want an habitual backup (every week for example) of files that are dispersed or of the whole PC you'd do best getting an automatic backup program.

You can buy an external hard drive and they usually come with back up software. That's the easiest. It's not usually a good idea to back up your files on the same hard drive .....

High memory Cards/ DVDrw/external hard drive.. theres one they are selling on PC world for £90.. you get up to 350GB.. thats a lot
