Loosing weight is one problem, keeping it off is another. It takes commitment. You can starv yourself, go on a radical weight loss program, or learn how it all works.

It is best, first of all not to become obsessed with the problem. Don't look for change daily because it won't be there. It took quite a while for you to get into this condition and the reverse takes just as long. Radical changes mess up your metabolism and your body to a point where it will never be right.

Get an inexpensive book like the calorie king, it has more than calories in it, there are carbs, protein, fats and so forth I am not advertising this book, there are others out there just as good, but this is the one I use..

Start by eating what you want, but write it down, everything. Then check out the daily results with your new book. You will soon locate the biggest offenders. items such as bread, pasta, white rice, and potatoes are very high in carbohydrates. Try to balance your meals with carbs and protein, eat fresh fruits instead of drinking fruit juices. You don't have to stop eating anything, just adjust the portions and balance things out. For example, toast for breakfast is a good idea, but it is a high carb food and will disopate quickly. have a couple of eggs with it and it will stay longer and slow down the carbohydrate conversion.

Adamently avoid hydrogenated foods and oils, including margerin. Many producers claim they will make you beautiful, read the labels. Most processed foods are not that good for you no matter what is said on a commercial.

As you see things like mayonasea, it is very high in calories, substitue mirical whip, lots less. Butter very high, use less. Fast foods, avoid them extremely high in calories and fats and not at all good for you. Soda is just loaded with sugar and calories. If you don't want diet soda, then reduce your intake of regular soda, drink water. Be careful with diet soda, much of it is not that good for you either.

Get 1/2 hour of walking briskly daily, in addition to what you are now doing. Do it every day but start at 10 minutes and add aminute a day. This improves your metabolism greatly and the arobic benefit is tremendous. 1/2 hour per day is as good as you need to get, more will not improve your health any more than that. Don't run. Take the dog for a run, but add this to your current daily events. Flab is removed with weight resistance not running or walking.

What you need is a life style change. All of us in this country do. I am 60 years old and a 20 year diabetic. I have been disabled for over 7 years now. I know more about diet changes now that I never knew before I got sick. Don't make the same mistake I did. Learn to take care of yourself now and avoid major problems later.

Try this it was invented by a dietitian for obese people who need an operation in two weeks time.
There is enough for one week so freeze half freshly made to last the week.
I cheated and did it for a whole month every other month went from a 40in waist to a 32in without to much effort.

Operation Soup

Ingredients.

3 large onions
1 large or two small green peppers
1 bunch of celery
½ head of green cabbage
1 leek
2 tin chopped tomatoes
1 packet of French onion soup (any brand)
3 vegetable stock cubes (I use oxo)

Cut all vegetables into bite size pieces if your not going to liquidize.
Place all in a large pot add enough water to cover.
Simmer until vegetables are cooked add more water if necessary.

NOTE
To be eaten as a two meal replacement (largest and the smallest).
You can still have a light lunch or light evening meal.
Should not exceed 5 days at a time and 10 days a month.
You will pass more water so make sure you keep up your water intake.

You and I both know it is a combination of eat less and exercise more. So why bother asking, unless you want something specific? Like "How do I motivate myself to . . . " Well, one way that has worked for me in the past is to put a picture of yourself at your top weight on the refrigerator door. A large one, if possible. Only problem is, that can ruin the appetite of the rest of the family, too. (My roommate eventually threatened anorexia if I didn't take it down.)

You are petite, so 130 seems like a lot to you. But it's not, really. Yes, there is room there to lose 20 pounds, but you can do that at a pound or two a week just by minor improvements in your diet and exercise. If you do it much faster than that, it is more likely to come creeping back at you the minute you slack off. So make small improvements gradually. Is there a single snack food that triggers your urge to munch? Just don't buy it anymore. Do you associate exercise with discomfort and a sweaty headband? Try going dancing a little more often.

Do your best to make it fun and take your time.

Find a program that emphasizes fitness and nutrition. BUT FIRST recognize that REAL weight loss means you are changing YOURSELF and your weight is going along for the ride. Begin a program of fitness and eating right, with the attitude that YOU will be a DIFFERENT person down the road - hopefully,a different person who is 20lbs lighter.

I personally prefer yoga and "bodyweight exercises" (they are like calisthenics, but a little more intense) and karate. If running, or pilates, or dance, or weigthlifting is your thing - DO IT!

Good luck

lots of exercise, walking, working out, whatever, keeping very busy helps too, no time to eat, stay away from fast food. Eat fruit, vegetables, tuna fish, cut portions in half, don't eat out much, make your own food at home. If that does not work, I recommend Jenny Craig. I lost 15 pounds while going to them and the ideas they teach you will help control your weight

Eat healthy foods and exercise is about the only good way to do it. Doesn't sound to me like you are to heavy. Weight is just a number, when you are thin, so worry about more important things than this. If you were obese, then I would take you more seriously.

one million. It's as useful as this, if you happen to burn off extra that you just devour then you are going to shed extra pounds so that you have to both devour much less or do extra however the pleasant means is to do each. two. You have to do a blend of aerobic - going for walks, running, swimming, biking and so forth and force coaching like crunches and weights. three. To shed extra pounds and hold it off you have to devour healthily and activity for the relaxation of your lifestyles that's why this is a well suggestion to uncover a vitamin and activity movements that's wise, you revel in and do not try to lose it too speedily.

Are you active? I mean, do you have any activities that get you moving around? Try to walk, get a work-out DVD, that sort of thing. And watch what you eat (cut back on bread, carbohydrates). The two together will really help.
