By the way, I'm an educated 35 yo women. I have a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education and an Associates degree in Paralegal studies. I know my way around a computer well.

I've working as a paralegal for 10 years and worked as a high school teacher for 3. I'm just so bored. I hate coming into an office and sitting a desk for 8 hours a day.

So far the responses I've gotten are pretty good. Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated

Many medical trascriptionist work from home. They just log into the facilities site. It is lots of typing though!! I work in an office where our receptionist used to do that, she said it was hard work.
Also, close captioners for TV work from home, most of those programs are about 9 months.

It really depends on whether you have any particular skills.
You have a possibility if you are an accountant, a tailor, a medical transcriptionist, a surveyor, a home inspector, a web site designer, a real estate agent, an auto repair appraiser, an engineer, a home-care nurse, or a writer that could accept jobs and mostly complete them at home. You could try contacting former employers or anyone that you have done equivalent work for before and see if they want to outsource to you.

If your skills involve things like typing names on envelopes or doing general office work you are at best out of luck. At worst you might become a victim of those phony schemes where they sell you some starting materials and say they will pay you if the work is done to their satisfaction. Guess what - it never is and they will not pay you, just keeping your money.

Hi, I work for a discount health benefits company, Ameriplan, that offers home based worker positions. You can verify their credentials from the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, the U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, as well as over 100K providers that accept their plans. They have nearly 2 million members, over 100K providers(doctors, pharmacies, vision centers, etc) and over 60K working for them from home. I work part time basically just taking phone calls, answering emails and advertising for the company. With my husband being in the military and I’m a stay at home mom, it’s a great additional income for us. I’m not a salesman and I don’t do any kind of telemarketing – that’s what I love about it. There is nothing shady or difficult with working for them. You get paid for helping people. They are a great company and have been a true blessing to me and my family. They offer great benefits, 401K and the pay is really good. I’d be happy to share with you more. I pretty much gave up on the whole work from home idea until I found this company. Email me back at airforcecontractnegotiator @ yahoo.com and I’d be happy to get you more info.

Good Luck!!

Hi, I can recommend a company called Arbonne. You can go to http://www.wonderful.myarbonne.com to hear about the company. There are links on the right hand side of the page you can click on to listen all that Arbonne has to offer. I know a lot of women with your backgrounds that have chosen to build their business with this company that are so happy they did! They have left the corporate world behind and have never looked back. This may just be a very great fit for you. If you have any questions just e-mail me and I will get back with you. Good luck to you. Terri T.

Work at home jobs are hard to find. Technical, phone work or writing jobs are the most common legit ones. You may want to check out some job leads at http://wahjobs.blogspot.com Plus there is a listing of companies that regularly hire telecommuters
