i'm doing this for research at my college, i'll be gratefull if u answer :-) also what'll be the best way to persuade/advertise people to go to the cinema during off peak hours?

that's the reason they run those specials is to get people to go but people don't go cuz 1) m-f .. most people are working and 2) for others it's just too darn early to go eat popcorn and watch a movie... they'd have to wake up early and especially if it's a nice day outside, forget it... i'd rather then be outside than cooped up inside a dark theatre. unless of course it's hot outside then a cool theatre may sound nice to me.

I was locked out of my house once so i went to the cinema about 11 am. There were about 20 old ladies there on their own. I thought it was sad that all these ladies who didn't have friend to go with didn't form a cinema group - instead they all sat by themselves.
I think combining cinema with lunch might be a good way to get them to go.
The main problem i think is that the cinema is in the dark so it upsets your body clock to go during the day.

Lower prices! Like a matinee on weekends but have them during the week. We have year round schooling at some of our schools and the kids need SOMETHING to do to stay out of trouble.

most people are working, most kids are in school, the only people available are usually people who are retired, not to mention the movies that are out are so crappy.. and most probably don't appeal to that age group

it is cheaper, they offer "Matinee" rates, which sometimes is half off regular price.
