Find a metal object, any metal (stainless, aluminium, etc.), and let the tap flow on your hands whilst rubbing your highly-scented fingers along the metal object. The carbon compounds in the metal neutralises the odour. I have an old, very dull knife sharpening rod that I use for just this purpose. Just rub away the odour.

Strangely enough, if you rub your hands on the metal taps in your kitchen, you should be able to get rid of the smell. Also, Lakeland do a little metal egg, which is used for the same purpose. It really works!

Rub a piece of stainless steel on your hands or if you have a stainless steel kitchen sink just run your hands around the sink then wash them with soap and water. There will be no smell.

I truly have a metal "bar of cleansing soap". that's made only for that. that's no longer cleansing soap, that's in simple terms metal. in case you rub your fingers with it like a ordinary cleansing soap bar, it takes away the garlic scent.
