Your girl/boyfriend invites you to see a show. One of his/her friend's bands is playing. You have no better plans, so you say sure, you'd be glad to. Later on, you find out one of YOUR favorite bands is playing somewhere else, and both of the shows are at the same time, so there's no way you could make both. What would you do?

Ask you bf/gf if you could do it another time. He/She knows the band she is taking you to see and will know where their next performance will be and you could see them at a later date.

Go with your original plans. If you cancel you would be saying, "sure I'll go with you as long as nothing better comes along". Thats rude.
