im not really interested in music. i tried many genres and none of them are really for me. many people have hundreds and thousands of mp3's on their hard drives, i have 50 , max, and thats an optimistic number. i rarely listen to any of them, and they are from many genres. i dont watch music television or listen to music radio. i guess this is unusual, i dont know anyone like this, but is there a cause for this?

I'm the same way. Every once in a while I will hear a song I like (maybe every 4 or 5 years), but if all the music on the planet suddenly evaporated, I wouldn't personally care.

Music just isn't your thing (or mine). I have other interests, and I'm sure you do too.

Marilyn S, perportedly one of the smartest people (very high IQ anyway), has a column. Someone asked what kind of music she preferred. She says she prefers the thoughts in her head.

I find most music insipid. The stuff put out today has all the messages of the old C & W ; insecurity, dysfunctional relationships, or worse. Rap is the same agenda with added vulgarity, low respect for women and selected professions and color. It also lacks the traditional three components of music, having only rhythm.

I took the narrow road. You will always have friends with the crowd, but never satisfaction. Life should have purpose.

I was really into pop music for about 13 years, but rap and other kind of hard urban music started gaining ground in the radio play lists and pop charts. I started listening to new age, like Enya. I had collected two or three hundred favorite songs. Partly what tired me of listening to music was playing them over and over. Also, the music changed and I changed. Television has become too shallow and fast-paced for me. Radio is full of right-wing radicals. So most of my electronics are unplugged. Maybe you just like peace and quiet.

You don't like music, then you must enjoy some other form of entertainment, possible involving the Arts. There's nothing wrong with it. I suppose you could associate it with someone having a dislike for certain foods. My dad loathes cheese, I could never figure it out, but I guess some people are like that. Completely normal.

I have never heard of this before and to tell you the truth it is a little weird but hey whatever is whatever. As long as you don't run up in a school and do damage like current nut jobs then it can be as silent around you as you want just don't DO what the voices tell you DO!

maybe music just doesn't move you...I work at a bar and grill, people play songs on the jukebox that while I am in the kitchen, I am cringing when will that damn song be over, cause I can't stand it....and some are played over and over...didn't like it the first time, sure don't like it the 20th time...Some music appeals to others that omg- they have to have the cd, and like myself, I wouldn't own it if it was free....There are songs that I just love, but I am sure someone would say, ugh!!!..

Who doesn't like music? It sets the mood in so many ways, especially upbeat music. You must be really bummed out.

You're just different, you don't like music its okay, some people don't like watching TV, some don't like reading books... each to his own. If you're not into music no big deal.

your just different. nobody ever said you have to like music to be normal. if you looked hard enough you'd likely find many other people who share your lack of interest in music.
