I mean it is always easier said then done . Do you always do it yourself what you advice to others ? Or is it something you want to do but are not able to ? Or it is in the best interest of the asker . How do you decide ?

Yes, I always answer truthfully to the best of my knowledge and abilities. I try to "practice what I preach" although it isn't always the easiest thing to do. What advice I give is my opinion or based on my experiences or that of others I've known in my lifetime. Each question is as individual to me as the ask-er so I give my answers according to the way someone ask their questions. If they are serious, then I usually am... occasionally I do throw in something off the wall just for kicks and giggles. No sense in being too serious in this life cause no one gets out of it alive anyway.

I try my best to . For funny questions, I give funny answers . For serious stuff like help plz/advice needed I give answers which should be appropriate for the asker . Its not always possible to recommend others something which we are doing or may be not doing . But yes most of the answers are based on personal experiences irrespective of the fact whether I am actually following them now or not . Answers might not be always of some use to asker but I have never given any wrong advice and never intend to .

We teach others what we most need to learn. It depends on the situation/question for me. More than likely I will give the answer that I believe is in the best interest of the asker. I would say that about 90% of the time I would handle the situation in the same way that I advise them to, but there's still that 10% of the time that I'm just hard headed. :D

I normally try to answer in what I feel is the best interest of the asker. Does this mean I am always 100% honest, no. I have never claimed to be honest and I never will. However, I do believe I am trustworthy, because I am not being dishonest out of spite or malice.

I Give honest answers every time. I want to do good to all. So I am happy if I can help any one. Many people have genuine difficulties or a question for which they would like to get an answer .The type of question surely reflects the attitude of the asker. I at least get satisfaction when Iam able to help any one.

OK, I suspect no one will like this answer, but this is, after all, the Philosophy category, so here goes. I would like to suggest that sometimes, perhaps even frequently, questions we are presented with are not honest questions. I think there can never be an honest answer to a dishonest question. I think what I'm trying to say is that we all wear masks in our society, the questioner and the questioned both. Concealment and embellishment are rampant and perhaps even vital acts in our crowded societies. Instead of trying to be honest all the time (likely an unreachable goal) perhaps our efforts would be better put to use in perfecting the art of the lie, in putting them to the most productive use and making them the best they can possibly be. We should try, at least, to outdo the propagandists, perhaps give them back some of their own sweet "medicine." This answer, as I said, will likely be unpopular, but I think it is honest. Oh, and no, I don't always give honest answers, don't even try much of the time.

Answers are not necessarily an advice... it is a suggestion sought as a possible solution to a situation, and experience adds value !
A drunkard is better placed to advice/suggest on ill-effects of drinks and can quote his own helplessness in coming out of the addiction to warn a would be alcoholic !
The same is true for many such experiences.

I always give honest answers but most people confuse honesty with accuracy. Honesty is more of an effort than an achievement. Its possible to use the truth to decieve someone and its possible to make an honest mistake. I make plenty of mistakes but I try not to decieve people.

However there is also room for humour. If I see an opportunity for humour then I will use it with the honest intention of trying to spread a little good will. It doesn't always work, but its still honest.

Most of the time, the asker is pretty serious about his Q when it comes to philosophy or health of any kind. The intensity of the Q is quite evident in the Q;
So, I don't feel like joking abt it.
I answer it only if it is My cup of tea.....
I ans to the best of my knowledge...... Sometimes I have learnt a lot of things myself in the process......
But if the Q is kind of a lite one, you can afford to fantasise or add kind of small comments.....
But i am basically honest......

Well, it depends on the question asked. But, for me, most of the time, I would give honest answers...like what I've experienced before. I believe that by sharing experiences would be the best advice for a friend.
