On you front page have lots of references to the content of your site relating on how you want search engines to find you, then have lots of links off your site to other relevant content sites, this should encourage the search engines to reference your site with the relevant content. i.e. if you sell fridges, make sure your tell this alot on your front page and link back to zanussi, electrolux, smeg etc home pages
hope this helps

Pay per click. You state how much you want to pay for each click on your website and depending on what other people have bid, you will be higher up or lower down the sponsored results.

Hi, its depending on what server you are using, if it is IIS you have put add your first page name in the documents list, like index.html or home.html etc.,
if you are using apachee, name your first page as index.html and change the httpd.conf file accordingly.
If you are using any side for hosting ( not using your server ) probably you have to put that as index.html page and instruct the site admin to change the config file accordingly.
good luck.
