I've had it done for about 3-4 years. (im female). at first i had a ring and took it out after about a year but I missed it. I had it re done again a year ago and its a bit bigger than my other nipple.I bought a shield the other day and couldn't get it over my nipple and I was so upset as I've always wanted one.
Any ideas fellow piercers?
DOn't bother answering if you're gonna be sarcastic..I know how harsh some of you can be

My girlfriend has horizontal bars in hers, She had a shield once, but it got snagged on what she was wearing and she hasn't worn one since. She is really sensitive there, so just barely touching the bars makes her go nuts, its great. They are a pretty thin gauge, shes pretty petite and has pretty small nipples, anything more would look a bit strange on her. I think shields probably would look better on bigger nipples, good luck finding one that fits! I'm sure you will.

I got my nipple pierced about 8yrs ago, and for real i ended up in hospital for 3weeks on morphine. The pain was bad and i still have the scares to prove it. No i am not apposed to piercings as i have my eyebrow,nose and tongue done. But i think i will leave my nipples alone

well hun i have my nipple pierced 4 years ago and i never had a problem other than once i was having intercourse and the guy had his tounge pierced and they got stuck together and it tuck us about 15 mins to untangle them...it sounds mad but there was no geting them apart. but i love my nipple piercing.i think you should just try again hun. dont just lose heart in it if you like something then don't give up till you get it wright.
