For all the mothers of reflux babies.?
How many of your babies have laryngomalacia and or tracheomalacia also? I am wondering how common it is. I know the two goes hand in hand.

By the way my son is on prevacid, ellecare formula, and still thickening his bottles at age 13 months.. He "chokes" on water and thin stuff easy.

I have a 3 month old daughter. Who has been diagnosed with severe GERD, allergy to formula now drinking Neocate formula, and a delayed gastric emptying. She has just out grown the failure to thrive category. I wasn't sure what those to things you asked about were so I researched them. I have never been told she has these. So I don't believe she does though laryngomalacia does somewhat describe what she seems like at times. My daughter also chokes if her food isn't thick. we use thick it 1 teaspoon to every ounce or for rice cereal 2 teaspoons to every ounce. But for your question no she has not been diagnosed with either of those to terms. Hope your little one is doing good. Take care.

My daughter has reflux. She was on Neocate. She has been having trouble with gagging and lots of air in her tummy, so the doc switched her to a soy formula. So far it has not helped. She has not been "diagnosed" with either of the things you mentioned, but they do sound like some of the things she does. She is on Prevacid, Reglan, and thickened formula. She also has a g-tube and fundoplication. The fundoplication is where they twist the stomach around the esophagus to tighten the opening. Food can still go down but can't come up as easily. She does not eat by mouth yet, but hopefully will get to soon. She is almost 11 months old.

My 14 month old has mild reflux. She has been on Reglan for several months now but I have never heard of those two things you're asking about. I hope everything goes well with your son.
