Just lighten up and let someone else take the lead occasionally.

Hi, yummy!

This can be a tough one because habits are automatic. BUT, habits can be worked on and eliminated if they cause problems and get in the way of our relationships. And, the more we think about a problem, the bigger it gets. Therefore, we need to think in the opposite manner in order to lessen a behavior problem we have or in order to eliminate it...or eventually eliminate it.

Therefore, for bossiness, which is a sign of impatience, at all times we must remember to be patient with ourselves and with others. No one is perfect in his/her behavior, but, by being patient we allow ourselves the time needed to reflect on what to say and do before we speak and act.

Also, voice tone and body language are important. So, we need to practice using a softer voice tone with little or no "edge" in it and practice using a more relaxed body stance and mannerisms, or gestures. Smiling helps with voice tone and body language.

Back to patience:

Learning to be more patient takes time, so be patient with yourself as you learn to be more and more patient with yourself. Once you get to a point where you are fairly patient with yourself, it will reflect to others. The bonus qualities of self-patience are tranquility, peace, ease, and restfulness and these qualities will bring you more self-patience, they will also reflect to others, and they will help with voice tone and body language.

Best of luck to you!

to be a friend you must be friendly..... stop telling people what to do.... ask them what do you think about..... give them a chance to suggest things to do or to go.....
