Im from dominican and im going visit my bf's parents and meet them for the first time... they live in the united states and i would like to gift them some thing native from my country. i dont know. my bf was here before and i gifted to his mom a precious amber jewelry.... for his dad i just bought this nice coffee cup that have this coconut tree draw in it. ....

any idea????

Bring a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the vase to put them in. When you are meeting parents for the first time, you really don't have a feel for the type of people they are, so any gift you bring them will be strictly a guess. A gift should always be fitting for the person, and since you don't know them yet, I would say the flowers is a safe bet. Get to know them and then you can make personal gift choices. Good luck.

Dont always come bearing gifts. It looks like your trying to bury ur head up their ***! And that might cause some uncomfortable tension for the parents, because they might think they should buy you a gift. Save gifts for the special occasions. Even if you dont celebrate them at home, if your with them then participate. All I'm saying is try not to buy your way into people's hearts, let them accept you for you.
