I answered a question from an American that I found very insulting and rude to British people, I said nothing disgusting or rude back and I got a violation, I'm having a bad day today, do I just laugh it off or fight my corner!

People get violations for all kinds of weird, senseless reasons when they didn't really do anything wrong and at the same time nothing is done about some questions that are pure sick or hateful. It seems like Yahoo!Answers don't really have any standards when it comes to giving violations. Don't take it personally and don't let it ruin your day, just shake your head over this nonsense and move on.

having been born in Bermuda to an English mother and an American father, and also lived in both countries, I must say that not all Yanks are rude. Some have a certain dialect akin to "Cockney", and those who do usually aren't so bright.
I to received a violation once and foUNd it un-warrented, but.....what are you going to do.
I say just hope for another Brother Gallagher Fight. {I know I butchered the spelling but you realise I mean Oasis}

easy on the american bashing folks, some people are sensitve but, americans for the most part have a great sense of humur, I do have a good appriciation for english comedy though, it is generally a bit more intellectual, but forget about it (guy bummed about the flag) life goes on, I got dumped by a girl 3000 miles away today, that should make you feel better

There are no real standards here. Offensive, racist, sexist, hateful comments go on all the time. They get reported several times, and yet the questions and answers remain. Other things that are not offensive get reported, and they are removed.
Don't let it get to you. It's all free, so at least you're not paying money for such nonsense. Just take it in your stride and rise above it. Have a good day.

Time we sent in our gunboat :-)
They should never hve overthrown our benevolent rule :-). After all, they couldn't even make a good pot of tea but had to throw the tea in cold salt water! They didn't even have the decency to add milk and sugar!

When I get violations, I send yahoo an e-mail and defend my position. If you think you're in the right, let them know it.
