Purple and violet are both hard to match. Some people give weird answers I see. White and pale grey are nice with purple. Some neutral and light colors might work, e.g. biege, tan, ivory, cream, ecru. Black can work, but lighter colors seem better to me. If you want darker colors, violet or some browns may work. Green, blue, orange, yellow or red clash with purple.

Gray or army khaki green, shade would depend on shade of purple. Gray with purple is visually soothing, nothing overwhelms the eye... the green with the purple reminds people of something floral... so also can be soothing (think purple crocus, iris, violets, etc)

That depends on what shade of purple. If it's a dark purple, you could look for a lighter shade of the same tone, like lilc or lavender.

Try yellow. Yellow and purple are opposite on the colour chart so they will compiment eachother. Try it first on a piece of paper. Any shades of these colours will go together. The paler ones are especially pretty.

well theres always basic black. Black would go well with purple, so would gray, white, or a lighter shade of purple. But Red also goes well with purple. Try it you might like it.

gray would look good if it's used as an overshirt and the purple is underneath. such as a purple tank and think gray oversweater.

White is very classy. Blue jeans for more casual also fits well.
