The two first ladies to answer are correct, but, if your cousin and you are close, or can be close for the next few years, it would be best if you just 'pretended' to be the legal mother for a few years, knowing that she'll come around one day, and be the mom she should be. I know you are a caring person, or you wouldn't have posted the question in the first place. Family is so important in our short life, I know you know that. Good luck, I send my love with this note. Adoption! Call a lawyer.. they should be able to draw up the paperwork for you and all that fun stuff. It will probably run you about 1K even if shes fully willing and so is the bio father :) if the bio father fights it will probably cost more like 2K
