My friend set a dish on my countertop and I did not realize it was dripping with olive oil and lemon juice on the bottom so it sat there while we ate dinner. STAINED.

I took Dawn dishsoap and rubbed it on. soaked a dish cloth in super hot water and let it sit. I alternated this for a while. usually this gets my oil stains out. Lemon Juice is another story. No experience with this. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE???

Thanks.

I would recommend a paste made of baking powder and hydrogen peroxide; mix together making paste consisted to just thinner than peanut butter.apply on spill, going approximately 1/2 in,keeping as thick as possible, cover with plastic wrap using masking tape, let set for 2 hrs or until dried, remove wrap and scrape with plastic spatula, then clean with Granite & Move Cleaner, wipe dry with clean cloth. If this dose not work instead of using baking powder use baby powder it has talc.

If it is true granite (not an engineered stone), check the first link for information. Search the page for "Removing Stains" (about 3/4 down the page) and it has some instructions there.

If it is an engineered stone, try the second link.

Hope this helps -- good luck!

Try this: Make a paste of bicarb and vinegar and apply the paste to the stain. Cover with cling wrap until almost dry. The stain should then scrub out with detergent and water.
