There just may be a few old timers in government somewhere shaking their heads each time the legislature adjourns. I first noticed the degradation when Ted Kennedy killed that woman in a drunken car accident or was she dead before the accident.
I really would like to see or government put their common sense hats back on and get to the quick of issue's In our own country and lending a hand to those in need(without red tape and a ton of paperwork) efficiency in gov is gone ever try to call or contact a gov office without getting a canned answer about something other than what was asked?
what we the People need to do is form another political party who does not bicker, has an agenda and long term goals for the advancement of its people and betterment of our society other than to create new laws that erode our fundamental rights. Do you feel like a slave to our government?. I do.
That Foley crap is just the top snowflake on the tip of the iceberg. Were has the revolutionary spirit gone? Our Constitution has been breached and eaten up by unethical and lying politicians.

I'm not sure we ever had much. Before TV, we had much less exposure to candidates and their platforms. And I personally believe that after the 'revolution' in the U.S. in the '60's, everything swung too far left. It centered for a short time and now has swung to the right. Hopefully, we'll get it in balance before someone blows up the world.

Nothing new. There's always been corruption and hypocrisy in government. "Statesmen" are just politicians who have been dead long enough for us to forget their foibles.

The thing that *has* changed is that governments have learned how to use political spin more effectively, but the politicians really haven't changed their nature much.
